FAQ

We want to help answer all your questions about braces and what you can expect! Here are some common questions and answers that patients ask:

Why an orthodontist?

Orthodontists are specialists in moving teeth and aligning jaws. Dr. Boutros is uniquely qualified in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of orthodontic problems. They dedicate their professional lives to creating healthy, beautiful smiles in children, teens, and adults.

At what age should I schedule an appointment with an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age 7. By this age, several permanent teeth in most children have erupted, allowing Dr. Boutros to effectively evaluate your child’s orthodontic condition.

What will happen at the initial exam appointment?

Upon arriving, we will gather your completed new patient forms and prepare for the initial exam. We will take the necessary photos and x-rays   to allow Dr. Boutros to make a proper diagnosis. We will show you the benefits of orthodontic treatment, review your best treatment options, and how long your treatment will take.

How much will braces cost? Are financing options available? How does my insurance work?

It is impossible to give an exact cost for treatment until we have examined you. We will cover the exact cost and financial options during the initial examination. We have many financing options available to accommodate your needs, and we will review these with you. If you have orthodontic insurance coverage, we will be happy to file your claims for you.

Is it too late to have braces if I am an adult?

There is no such thing as “too old” to straighten your teeth. One in every five orthodontic patients is an adult. A great looking smile can boost self-confidence and enhance an adult’s career opportunities and social life. We offer great less visible options like ceramic braces and Invisalign.

How do I schedule an appointment for an initial exam?

Simply call our office, send us an email, or fill out our appointment request form online. We will be happy to schedule an appointment for you. When you call to schedule your appointment, our front office staff will request some basic information from you along with your dental insurance information.
